About Jeanne Crockett

I’m rich because I have had a diversified petfolio throughout my life. It started with Penny, a black Cocker Spaniel that my parents purchased for me on my sixth birthday. Penny was followed by five more dogs, seven cats, a community flotilla of fish, and one horse; not all at once, but at different times of my life. And with the exception of Penny and my German Shepherd, Jessie, all of my beloved animals were rescues.

I’ve always had a passion for animals and enjoy learning how to understand them, properly care for them in all stages of their lives, and to manage their personality quirks so that they become welcomed family members.

I’ve competed in obedience, agility and rally trials with my dogs and hunter/jumper equitation shows with my horse. I’ve worked in a veterinary hospital tending to patients; bringing a squirming litter of puppies into the world and comforting old friends through their gentle goodbyes.

I have volunteered with local rescue groups and have taken a few rescues into my home temporarily until they moved into my heart permanently. As my awareness grew, I advocated for better animal welfare laws and more humane animal treatment. After a lifetime in the corporate world, I decided it was time for me to put my passion to work and created Crockett’s Critter Care.

This is a calling I take very seriously. I strive to be your trusted partner in pet care. Your pet has a special place in your heart and your life. My duty is to care for them the way you would if you could. I’ve taken my passion and earned the designations to ensure your confidence:

  • Pet Sitters International Certified Professional Pet Sitter
  • Fear Free Certified Elite Professional
  • Pet First Aid and CPR Trained
  • Bonded & Insured
  • Continuing Education – Canine Coaching, Feline Behavior Management, Senior Pet Care

As the owner of Crockett’s Critter Care, I want you to know that caring for your pet is my business and my pleasure. Each and every pet I care for has their own personality from a laid back senior hound who takes a sedate stroll to a frisky kitten who needs play time. You can reach out to me directly with any question, compliment, or concern you have about the care of your pet. Contact me so that we can talk about your pet and their special needs.

Every pet that I care for will always have a special place in my heart.
My first pets were a Rottweiler / Australian Shepherd mix named Bear and a Teddy Bear Hamster named Brownie. Now I have a houseful of pets: an English Bulldog (Goober), a Coonhound (Fraulein), 2 Chinchillas (Wookie and Baby Wookie), and a Leopard Gecko (Bessy).

There’s no better Psychiatrist than a puppy licking your face.
When I was about 5 years old we got Babe, a mixed breed Beagle from the “dog pound”. Now I have two pound hounds, Maggie, a mixed breed Husky and Nikki, a Chihuahua.

Happiness is a warm puppy. - Charles Schultz
I remember romping through the blue bonnet fields in TX with our boxer when I was less than 5 years old. My life just hasn’t been complete without a dog (or two) in the house since 1992; and they have all left their prints on my soul. Currently, I have a mixed breed named Chloe, who is loving life at 6 yrs. old.

A house is not a home without a dog.
I grew up with many dogs and the first one I adopted was a German Shephard/Great Dane mix, “Otis” named for his affinity for Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. He was a part of our family for 14 years and will never be forgotten. Now I have 2 adopted lab mixes, Wesco Abraham and Bootsie.

Every day with the pups is a good day.
I’m originally from Minnesota, but I moved all around the country and settled in New Bern in 2009. When I was four years old I got my first dog Sadie a Cocker Spaniel. Now I share my home with Lucy and Jack, Yorkshire Terriers and Schatzie a Yellow Labrador.
